Buy the Historic and Elegant "Folies de la Marquetterie" Champagne

Château de la Marquetterie, nestled in the heart of the Champagne wine-growing region, is steeped in history and elegance. Once the residence of writer Jacques Cazotte, author of the French classic Le Diable Amoureux, and a gathering place for Enlightenment philosophers and intellectuals, the château has played a significant role in both cultural and military history. General Castelnau used it as his headquarters during the Battle of Champagne in 1915, while much earlier, in the 17th century, Brother Oudart, a Benedictine Monk, uncovered some of the secrets of champagne fermentation right here.

A Tribute to Heritage and Craftsmanship:

“Folies de la Marquetterie” is a blend of 45% Chardonnay and 55% Pinot Noir, sourced exclusively from the prestigious Taittinger vineyards. The acquisition of Château de la Marquetterie and its surrounding vineyards, known as “Les Folies,” marked the beginning of the Taittinger family’s Champagne adventure—a journey that has led to the creation of more than 35 different crus. This exceptional cuvée pays homage to this storied history, offering a champagne that is both dense and profound, with opulent aromas that reflect its rich heritage.

Craftsmanship: Each plot in the vineyard is vinified separately, and some of the crus are aged in oak barrels, adding depth and complexity to the wine. After five years of careful ageing in bottles, "Folies de la Marquetterie" achieves perfect balance and harmony, making it a champagne of extraordinary quality.

Appearance: The champagne is a deep yellow in colour, with golden highlights that hint at its richness. Fine and delicate bubbles rise gracefully, adding to its allure.

Nose: The bouquet is intensely fruity, leading with aromas of peach and apricot jam, complemented by subtle hints of toasted brioche and vanilla. These opulent aromas are a testament to the champagne’s depth and complexity.

Palate: On the palate, this champagne is full-bodied, smooth, and fruity, with dominant peach flavors that are both satisfying and refreshing. The finish is distinctive and expressive, delivering lightly woody notes that add to the wine’s character.

A Champagne for the Ages:

"Folies de la Marquetterie" is a full-flavored and harmonious champagne that stands out for its immense richness and complexity. This “terroir” wine, structured and powerful, is a perfect tribute to the 18th century and the timeless traditions of champagne making. It pairs beautifully with robust dishes such as roasted meats and fish in sauce, making it an ideal choice for those who appreciate a champagne with depth and history.

Send the luxurious "Folies de la Marquetterie" Champagne to experience a taste of history and elegance. This exceptional champagne promises to make any occasion truly memorable, whether enjoyed with a fine meal or as a celebration of life’s most important moments.
