Champagne Brut is dry, sparkling wine from the Champagne region of France. Champagne of any colour can be brut, both the standard white and Rose. It is made from the classic Champagne Blend (typically Chardonnay, Pinot Noir) but in theory can also include other champagne varieties, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Petit Meslier and Arbane.
Ultra Brut/Extra Brut/Brut Zero/Brut Nature/Brut Sauvage: Totally dry – No added sugar
Brut Champagne: Should taste dry with no perception of sweetness. (Contains no more than 1.5% sugar.)
Extra Dry/Extra Sec: Off dry – tastes slightly sweet. (Can contain up to 2% sugar.)
