Valduero Wines: Pioneers of Ribera del Duero

Valduero’s red wines are made exclusively from 100% Tinto Fino, with vineyards ranging from 12 to over 40 years old. The vines, grown on clay soils with limestone and sandy patches, yield low quantities of intensely flavored grapes. Committed to traditional cultivation methods, the winery uses only natural organic fertilizers, does not irrigate the vines, and harvests all grapes by hand in small crates to ensure quality.

The winery itself is buried underground, maintaining a constant temperature that is ideal for aging. This environment, combined with the use of 225-liter oak barrels from American, French, and Eastern European oak—replaced every four years—contributes to the creation of wines with unique and complex aromas.

In addition to their Ribera del Duero offerings, Valduero expanded to the D.O. Toro region 15 years ago, focusing on a younger, more fruit-driven style of wine made from 100% Tinta de Toro grapes. These wines, like their Ribera counterparts, are celebrated for their quality and have garnered numerous awards and high ratings from renowned critics, including Robert Parker.
